Illinois puppy mill bust

rural kankakee county 52 dogs and puppies were rescued after a tip led to a week long investigation into a puppy mill. KAREN BROWNFIELD, age 57 has been charged. she is related to the puppy mill owner, a 59 yr old woman who is still under investigation. that unnamed relative has a history of running puppy mills in rural illinois. they are looking into other puppy mill locations.

the dogs/puppies were found in unheated sheds, in cages stacked on top of one another. they were soaked in urine/feces, they had mites & ticks. two dogs had to be taken to the vet, one of which had a shattered knee.

they will be ready for adoption in a couple of weeks. these dogs will be a welcome addition to a shelter whose current list of adoptable dogs is 50% ambull/pit bull/amstaff mixes.

when i wrote this blog post there were a total of 32 dogs, 16 were ambull/pit bull/amstaff mixes. now there are a total of 29 dogs and 13 of them are ambull/pit bull/amstaff mixes.

try to follow along...
16/32=50%
13/29 = 45%

This is the for-profit version of crazy female hoarders.

The puppy mill thing is so heavily an older-female crime.

These loons need to be under court-ordered supervision for the rest of their lives.

Except they aren't really crazy. Just greedy pieces of @#$%
