A picture of some dude with a Pit. Are you serious?

I see people all the time with dirty, nappy, underweight fur balls that AREN'T Pit Bulls all the time trying to pan handle.

I'll have to send you the pictures

People all over the US are losing their jobs and their homes. You read in the news about abandoned homes where the owners up and left, and the dog was left in the house or back yard, to starve to death. You read about dogs found along the highway or road, of shelters finding dogs tied to their doors or left in the outside pens.

No matter the breed in this picture, it's kudos to this couple, who didn't give up on their dog because of an excuse. It's good to know that some still know the meaning of a commitment.

It's a sad day, indeed, when you can sit behind your screen and revel in someone's misery. Are any of you capable of such sacrifice and commitment for your pets if your lot in life were to quickly change?

i am not reveling in any one's misery.

why do you think i find this photo interesting and worthy of blogging?

three things:

first, they are violating the law by panhandling in a spot that is clearly marked NO LOITERING.

second, homeless people can not properly contain a pit bull. what happens to the dog when they go into a grocery store or more likely a liquor store?

third, they're broke by their own admission. they lack the ability to cover any damages that the dog might do.

What happens when they get drunk and pass out?

Sad. How quickly we have lost our compassion for our fellow humans, for our companion animals.

I can only hope that I never become as jaded or lose faith as you have. To be so consumed by such hatred that you would pass judgment on a couple you know nothing about truly shows your life has become so small and narrowed.

You'll never know what it's like to be someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. These people look like they've lost everything, and you are reveling in their misery with your snarky comments.

This blog may be a lot of things, but, this is finally it's lowest entry.

One can only hope that their luck in life will never run out, that their health will always be good, and to be happy.

Spoken like a middle class idiot who would call the cops on these two methheads in the photo if they came near her

The dog is obviously neglected, terrified, displaying signs of discomfort and stress that could easily result in an attack if anyone walked by, and these two morons don't have the money for dog food or vet care

They also don't have the insurance when the pit bull KILLS OR ATTACKS SOMEONE.

There also doesn't appear to be anyone even holding the damned leash!

If you even gave a damn about the dog you could figure out it could slip the collar and break the leash free very easily and either attack or get HIT BY A CAR!

And climbing in and out of strangers' cars (potentially with kids and other animals in them) with a pit bull is something that even a dogman would call STUPID and setting the dog up "for failure" in other words to ATTACK!

Not to mention what would happen if a little kid passed by and reached out to pat the doggie while the druggies were playing with their signs.

And now please take a moment to stick your "kudos" right up between the brains you are sitting on.

I thought they were hitchhiking! Which seemed very funny to me at the time.

Who is to say they owned the dog before they became homeless? Maybe they got it for protection because they have to sleep on the street.

the photographer said this is the bottom of a freeway off ramp. it had a big problem with homeless panhandlers so the city put up the NO LOITERING sign.

"Maybe they got it for protection because they have to sleep on the street."

Yeah, you know, so it will attack people walking down the sidewalk who have to pass by them

Yeah, smart observation, pittieluvr!

More than likely they'll sic the pit bull on the cop who tells them they can't loiter!

i bet they FOUND the dog like all good pit nutters do.

btw, zanudidi, is being sarcastic. zanudidi is on our side.

i saw a homeless person sleeping on a bus stop bench with his pitbull right on top of him for warmth i quess. i never saw either of them alive again. both became casualties of their bad luck or lifestyle as it turned out later.

I think you guys are heartless and judgemental. I too have seen so many people lose their jobs and be homeless. I have seen many homeless people with many different breeds of dogs as well. Not all homeless people are alcoholics either. Again you guys stereotype.

yeah, i have heard the heartless and stereotyping criticisms before .

first off, i have never accused either of these two of being alcoholics. i have no idea what their situations are or how they got there. secondly, i have read two many accounts of pit bulls belonging to homeless dirt bags attacking other dogs and people and even a carriage horse. i have a problem with people who have nothing (judgment proof), owning a dog that is daily causing such devastation. they shouldn't be able to own a car if they can't afford insurance either.
