craven desires: this is a head scratcher

When the officer arrived on the scene, he noted lacerations on Charlie and left me a note to seek veterinary care. Meanwhile, he felt comfortable leaving the pit bull in my back yard with the little pup with visible injuries. By the time someone came home, Charlie has been locked in this pit's jaws for five hours!

The menacing animal remained in my yard for another two hours before jumping back over the fence. Animal Control spoke to my neighbor later in the evening and gave her warnings to confine her dog and mandated posting of a pale blue warning sign. It's an outrage!

I am a single mom with two small children who now has to live with the impending possibility of this vicious animal jumping over the fence. My only recourse is to call Animal Control when it does hop the fence. Am I suppose to wait until another serious tragedy before this situation is taken seriously?

Yet the only concern is whether the PB will get in trouble. I've asked more than once how the pup is doing who was exposed to this trauma -- no answer as yet. The indifference in the so-called professional dog-world is unforgivable.; February 14, 2010 9:45 AM

no shit said...: how cool is that? arm yourself against pitdog or even pitman. i wish. but alas here where we are tis very illegal to carry any gun for protection. and yet big possibly lethal dogs are everywhere and people flout the muzzle law mostly with impunity. if this is a nanny state its not protecting us from the nanny dogs. a pellet gun is seen as much worse than a scarred up fighting dog. no shit; February 14, 2011 11:10 PM
