You have a tag as "Humor". Well it ain't. Did you see the post on the Dog Bite Law Blog about the fact that citizens are having to take up arms to protect themselves against pit bulls?
No I got it, and P did too I think. I think they are just despairing, as are many.
Really, truly if people have a pit bull move into their neighborhood or have a problem with roaming stray pit bulls, they must adopt a "life under wartime" strategy or they or a loved one or pet is dead.
High, secure fences that can't be climbed over or dug under, locked gates, NEVER leave a child or pet out unattended, and just forget about putting your normal dog on a leash and going for a walk.
Pit bulls escape confinement easily, and can't be stopped once the attack starts, which can be in the blink of a eye, no time to get the gun.
And anyone who gets a pit bull is disturbed and does not care about the safety of their neighbors. NEVER trust a pit bull owner when they insist their pit bull is friendly. They don't understand the nature of their own fighting dog.
Notify their insurance company that there is a pit bull at the residence, and ZERO TOLERANCE for animal control infractions. FORCE animal control to deal with loose pit bulls. File written complaints to every authority in sight if the pit bull is not contained at all times, if it's chained outside, or if it is showing aggression.
Put up a security system to PROVE the lawbreaking and danger.
GET A GUN. And use it if a pit bull is on your property. The pit bull owner can whine and bitch, but it is better to be alive or keep your kid or pet alive, than be afraid that the mentally disturbed person or thug who lets their pit bull wander loose might get upset.
Do not let the pit bull promoters convince you to tolerate this.
Aw, Craven, of course I got it. Just wanted to point out that it's the truth, people are having to arm themselves against pit bulls and it's being noted by others. I see this picture as "Welcoming Neighborhood Committee for Pit Bulls".
I loved the photo and thought it was a hoot... but have to note that there is big dose of reality here. I never considered gun ownership until I was attacked by a pit bull. I now own and carry.
Good point, Craven. I got my carry and conceal, but in my state you don't have to conceal to carry. And if some form of licensing is required, be sure you carry picture ID and your license with you whenever you have your firearm on you.
This is bullshit... I'm more scare of gun owning idiots than pit bulls... I'm sure there was not one ounce of provocation from the innocent.. nothing on gods earth will attack unless provoked.

that would have been a much better title!!

I too never once even considered getting a gun until this pit bull war on the innocent erupted.
One community suffering when the fighting breed breeders come to town.
Check out the pig in the back, sleazeball's mother. Think she could handle one of these crap bred dogs when it goes after the neighbor's kid?
American Bully Kennel Club trash. We know all about them.

How long until this is a sad news story and someone gets hurt?
same here, never considered it before.
I carry openly in my neighborhood since my attack. Now the grannies don't even walk their Yorkies unleashed. Attitude adjustment, courtesy of Glock.
note to people interested in open carry, make sure it is legal in your state. don't screw up your right to arm yourself.

Some advice. I think you should sometimes use the word 'hideous' as in, 'hideous mutant'. You tend to always use 'ugly mutant'.

another uneducated pit bull owner. sigh.
