I don't have the heart to watch all these videos but after watching the first it is clear that "a solid recall" is all that is necessary for the protection of local livestock. But a tall goat fence is always a good plan too (inside joke here).

The owner did not stop calling her dog for the entire 9+ minutes of the video. The mauler is apparently deaf...

Debbie Bell would say that those are good pitbulls just doing what they were bred to do . the ones snuggling with kitties and bunnies and letting trailer spawn ride them are actually the bad pitbulls.

I can't watch the rest. I can't get over people filming these ugly, wagging death dealers jumping and grabbing a cat and killing it.

well in some places such spectacles are amusing and even admirable , to many people. even here you have the primitive neanderthal trailer dweller who is impressed with this kind of cruelty and violence, ...i think such medieval folk should be fed to the great bronze shitbull.

The nutters will just repeat their "all dogs" mantra over and over like good little sheeple.
All dogs will kill cats.
All dogs will kill other dogs.
All dogs will create mayhem when they SOMEHOW get loose.
All dogs can scale 10' fences to attack a senior citizen walking/gardening/existing.
All dogs will leap out of 2nd story windows to attack a dude walking his dog.
All dogs bite, maul, maim, kill when given the chance.
All dogs will dig under a fence to kill a horse in a pasture.
All dogs will sprint across a 4 lane intersection to maul a toddler across the street.
All dogs are untrustworthy with kids - except nanny dogs, unless nanny dog also attacks kids.
All dogs will eat a steel belted radial tire if given the opportunity.
All dogs need a break stick.
All dogs have a zero margin of error which ends in death or misery when error occurs.

Holy shit, why do we keep dogs again? They ALL sound like assholes.

/sarcasm off

I've seen some of the videos before, and can't bring myself to watch most of the others. The only type of sh*tbull footage it's not particularly painful to view is the kind featuring nutters being mauled by their assault dogs. There was one clip (from Russia, maybe...?) where the dog attacked at least three different people, then finally was shot at by police. When it kept running all over the place they proceeded to try run it over in their cars. That one was pretty awesome.

I don't know what the big deal is. All these videos are just pit bulls warming up for the dog park.

These videos make me cringe, I couldn't watch most of them all the way through. The ones with the cats being mauled were horrific. :(

I read dogster magazine, (although I should stop, it's just getting infuriating)and this article seems to be typical of pit bull owners. I wonder how much of what she said about the other woman was true?
http://www.dogster.com/lifestyle/dog-park-drama

Rumpelstiltskin said...

Anonymous @1:27AM

I read the dogster article. What a pit bull moron. Here's a few problems with the pit bull owner's pit story.

"I adopted Kess (named by her previous owner after Vancouver Canucks hockey player Ryan Kesler) at 10 months of age from a family who did not have the means to care for her."

A professional hockey player abandons his pit bull? Couldn't afford training?

"As I came closer to the woman, Kess bounced over to her, tail wagging, hoping to say hello. The woman ignored my dog, and told me that she was really scared of Kess."

That's not very nice.

"Unfortunately, this type of situation isn't a shock to me anymore."

The pit bull owner doesn't care. I call that a lack of empathy.

"I had to stop and inform her that our city has no breed-specific legislation."

Now she claims it's legal for her pit bull to run up to people and her pit is entitled to harass someone who is, for whatever reason, afraid of pit bulls.

"But no matter what I said, she ignored me, interrupted me, and kept insisting that my dog was dangerous."

So now the pit owner's badgering becomes harassing to the scared woman.

"Fed up and unable to take the high road, I started yelling at the woman."

LOL! And the badgering continues to scare the already scared woman. The pit owner begins to rage!

"I thanked her for ruining my morning"

LOL! I'm thinking the woman, who is now a victim of pit owner abuse has had her morning ruined. Had the pit nutter just left or gone about their business, there would be no issues.

"We finally left, and I thought about the conversation the whole way home. I knew that this woman would tell her friends and family about our interaction and about how quickly I became emotional and angry."

I'm thinking the pit nutter was angry very early on and the woman has every right to express her disgust at this pit nutter's behavior.

"Others who watched the situation escalate would likely avoid me in the future."

If those "Others" are smart, they will avoid the pit nutter at all costs.

"I immediately regretted my behavior."

I doubt that.

"But sometimes, I just can't hold my tongue."

The pit nutter should update the statement to "just can't ever hold my tongue".

"Sometimes, I feel the need to stand up for myself and my dog. She doesn't deserve this and neither do I."

Just another self-entitled asshole pit nutter who enjoys "pit bullying" others.

"About the author: Cassandra is a bully breed fanatic."

This statement says it all! I don't know what this pit asshole does but they bring their pit bull to work.

Seems every sentence in that article is WRONG WRONG WRONG. I could not find anything right about this pit nutter rant. Just a lot of bitching and whining and aggression.

I have GSDs and if someone even seems like they don't want to interact with my dogs, I don't even acknowledge them. Actually, there are many times I don't want to interact with people. I want to take my dogs out and explore. There is no need for my GSDs to go up to strangers and as the pit nutter author says, "bounced over to her, tail wagging, hoping to say hello". I don't do that and I expect my GSDs to behave with manners. Pit nutters don't think like that.

For pit nutters, it's more like "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MY PIT BULL! WHY AREN'T YOU LOOKING AT ME!"

TIGER CAGE FOR SALE DAMN! LOLOL!

This should be a requirement for pit nutters. No exceptions, no excuses. Well, that and break sticks, but they never have one on them. I can't remember ever reading about a pit nutter at a dog park who used his break stick on a gamey pit bull locked onto a dog and save the day. Pit nutters are not heroes.

"why do we keep dogs again? They ALL sound like assholes"-Orangedog, your statement is prescient. As pitwits continue to adopt out pits as 'red nosed coonhound mix' and 'lab mix' this is the end result:
...exposing puppy mills, opposition to indiscriminate lethal animal control, introduction of high-volume low-cost spay/neuter and anti-rabies vaccination, introduction of online adoption promotion, encouraging the formation of thousands of new humane societies worldwide, etc., are not to be confused with pit bull advocacy. Pit bull advocacy is not defending dogs; it is defending the serial killers of the dog world, who kill, injure, and give bad reputations to all the rest. Indeed, pit bull advocacy, because it erodes public trust in dogs and people who care about dogs, stands a good chance of superseding rabies as the single greatest threat to the health, well-being, and human appreciation of all dogs worldwide.

pitnutters do have a need to be seen . its not about owning a dog , it about them and their "cool" dog that some people dont like . it like the people with pig rings in there noses and gross tattoo's on their face's. its not really about art or ornament , its about them getting attention and feeling good about themselves . if you want to avoid people with pitbulls avoid going to places where you will be seen.

Dogster is full of "victimized" nutters all back patting each other on how "enlightened" they are instead of the "ignorant twats" who don't want to interact with their dog. For fucks sake, get over yourselves. No one is required to love your dog.
Does anyone really believe that they didn't know how people react to pits when they went out and got one? Now they get to join the pit bull circle jerk anytime one of them receives anything less then adoration toward their un-dog.

Miss Margo said...

Aaaand...settling down to watch the videos. Something tells me that I won't want popcorn. More like a valium. Maybe 2 valium? (joking)

I read that Dogster article. What a jerk that woman is. And some people truly are afraid of dogs, and its menacing to force your animal on them. My mother's scared of big dogs (she does have a mini dachshund) and when some teenaged boys bullied her with their huge chow mix it made her scream and run away and it was so humiliating that she cried later. And my mother is a pretty tough, practical woman--she doesn't have a nervous disposition. I wanted to fucking kill those boys and I want to shake this woman.

In happier news, I am fostering a Saluki in my apartment. I haven't lived with a dog since I came to NYC. I needed to give her a bath. At home I'd just tie the dog to a tree in a yard and get her with a bucket and garden hose. No yards in my 4th-floor walk-up. I had to do it in the bathtub.

OH MY GOD. NEVER AGAIN.

well, the floors needed to be mopped anyway...

The pitiots desperation to get positive feedback on their piss poor choice of pooch is part of the fu**ed in the head mentality that is a signature of pit owners: Breed 'ambassador' and lion tamer complex: http://www.dogsbite.org/dangerous-dogs-pit-bull-owners.php

Anonymous said...

Breed ambassadors

According to the Tufts study, the most public way in which pit bull owners managed breed stigma was to become a fierce advocate for the breed. These owners seek to "educate" the public -- often through their own well-behaved pets -- by discounting stereotypes and promoting the finer qualities of the breed. For instance, to help deflect the fear that pit bulls incite about children, one respondent kept a photo handy that showed three children rubbing her pit bull's tummy.14

Examples of breed ambassador imagery is easily found on the Internet, like the YouTube video, "Pit Bull Viciously Attacks Child," which depicts happy babies lying near pit bulls. Some breed ambassadors, however, take activism of the "Pit Bull Cause" to reckless levels. Despite warnings from pit bull experts to "avoid dog parks at all costs,"15 such persons purposely visit dog parks to show other dog owners that pit bulls are safe, reliable dogs that are merely "misunderstood."

isn't dogster part of that idiot ian dunbar's empire of fools?

i like this:

About the author: Cassandra is a bully breed fanatic. When she's not exploring beautiful British Columbia with her two-year-old Pit Bull by her side, she can be found at the local watering hole enjoying an old fashioned burger and a pint of craft beer.

note that cassandra identifies herself first and foremost as a BULLY BREED FANATIC. her master status is pit bull owner and zealous defender. it is her primary role in life that supersedes all others.

fanatic |fəˈnatik|
noun
a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, esp. for an extreme religious or political cause
a person with an obsessive interest in and enthusiasm for something, esp. an activity

i would not describe myself as a fanatic about anything, well, except maybe the truth.

my favorite example of nutters "managing the stigma" and "educating the public". lol!

NBC 33 reporter Emily Turner was rushed to the emergency room Friday afternoon after a pitbull bit her in the wrist.

Turner was following up on a Thursday night story involving a police officer who was forced to shoot and kill a pitbull after it bit another cop and a jogger.

Turner talked with East Baton Rouge Animal Control and pitbull owners about the breed.

While emily was out shooting the story she met up with a family who said their pitbull was nice. The dog who, at first, was OK with her petting him--ended up biting her. It was all caught on tape.

That will teach her to be within striking range of a nanny dog. Good to see Emily is recovering nicely as it was a quick pitbble bite. Guess that pit was not as game as Vic's pit dogs. Another bonus, she got educated without having to take a life flight or lose a limb and all her medical bill will be paid as it was an on the job injury.

All victims of pit bull attacks should be so lucky.

Miss Margo, I am jealous! I love Salukis, they're one of my favorite breeds. Bathing dogs in the bathtub isn't my first choice either, I always end up needing to clean the entire bathroom afterward, walls included(and once the ceiling!).

I've never seen such swift censorship before! The last time dogster removed someones post(that I noticed anyway), it was because they were threatening to find and shoot other posters. Even then it took a few days of flagging to get it noticed and removed. But say one thing even remotely truthful about the dangerous nature of pit bulls and you're censored.
Dogster has turned into a pit bull lovers site, not the dog lovers site it claims to be. There are a few reasonable people on there who understand the true nature of pits, but they rarely speak up because other members will violently rip them apart. No freedom of speech there at all. There are more reasonable pit owners on pitbullchat than dogster.

Seriously, another babysitter. People are scared to death to let their kids walk anywhere by themselves because of "stranger danger", but will happily send them off to a babysitter with not just 1 or 2, but 3(!) pit bulls. I'd love to see these "mixes", but I don't really care. Once it's got gripper dog genes, it's tainted.

This is the stuff we need to show animal rights/welfare advocates who buy into the lie. This is what we need to show potential dog adopters when the shelters tell them a pit will be the perfect playmate for their cat or beagle. Don't let it get away.

Thank you, Anon. The foster Saluki is a beauty and very gentle and a bit timid, though she has become calmer and much more secure as days have passed. At first I was worried that she didn't like me, but she was just scared and warmed up after a few days. Her temperament reminds me somewhat of my last dog, which was a whippet. She is definitely not boisterous and hyper like my Golden. Sweet dog, but I think it would take time to cultivate this shy dog's full personality. Which is okay. I tamed my pet Parrot!

Watching her play with the squeak toy is a delight. She is very quiet though. Can dogs be mute?

She is waaaay too interested in my birds. I have to put her in the bedroom when I let the birds out to play.

"Can dogs be mute? "

Packhorse said...

I am active in my local AR community. I recently spoke with an AR advocate on the subject of pit bulls.

He didn't know much about pits and so just accepted what many of the big groups say: As long as you raise them right, etc. I talked to him about breed traits, using my own dog (who I had with me) as an example: My dog has never been and will never go hunting, but he would retrieve until he collapses if you let him. In fact, at that very moment, he was bouncing around with a ball in his mouth. That's what he does.

I talked about how these traits can't be "loved" out of dogs, and about all of the family pit bulls that have gone on to attack other animals and people with no provocation. The dog has no morality, it's just doing what its genes tell it to do, but we need to stop both making excuses for and creating fighting breeds.

We ended the conversation with him agreeing with me that all pit bulls should be subject to mandatory spay and neuter. I think if we have more rational one-on-one conversations with people who identify as animal lovers or dog lovers, the nutters would lose a lot of support.

Anonymous said...

To sort of answer Miss Margo's question: I think some dogs can be mute, in the same way some humans are mute for whatever reason. It could also be their personality, they simply choose not to bark or make other noises.

I haven't been around many sighthounds, but when I have been, they weren't very barky or whiny.

My dog chooses not to bark much. She was an abused rescue and for the first few days she was with me I thought she was deaf/mute, but she slowly started vocalizing and listening to me. It is still rare for her to bark or make noises, but I think it's just her personality, not breed.

As to the birds, I'm sure with enough love and care, you can train that prey drive right out of the Saluki! Soon she'll be able to romp through fields of bunnies and pigeons and not chase a single one! All it takes is love! /sarcasm/

pitnutters are never mute.

Miss Margo said...

I am sure her focus on my birds is just because she was a bait dog and her other owners did not socialize her properly. She was ABUSED!!! And FORCED to eat parrots for her sick owner's gratification.

Now that she is in a proper loving home, her true personality can emerge...

But the other members of the Manhattan Bird Fancier Club told me that I couldn't bring my foster Saluki to our meetings! WTF!?!? Don't they understand that she is reformed? This discrimination is setting back her progress!

Salukis come from the Middle East. Don't you know it is bigoted to be against Arabs?

Did I mention that I have a badge that says "I'm fostering a dog"? I wear it everywhere. Because it makes me a Super Important Citizen, and better than YOU!

Off topic I know but this entitlement attitude is a generational problem I think. People's dogs or children have to be acknowledged by my generation and the next or else they are going to go full retard.

One dog owner ive met besides pitbull owners was an owner of an overly hyper gsd. He let his dog jump on me when my back was turned to my kids and I got freaked like "get it off"
