I did not like the ending though. It still comes across to me as pro-pit in the end. At least its a new take on it. I'm so tired of seeing pit bulls in tutus.

i guess uppity , ornery , ugly peops just like pitbulls .they keep saying its the owner , not the dog , you have to watch out for but im not convinced yet . i just cant figure why such assholes would want a nice dog .

funny, i just watched this video again and the leading commercial is for aveeno with jennifer anniston. she is featured with her dog which appears to be a white GSD. anniston is a dog lover and supposedly adopted a pit bull a few years ago but oddly enough, i can't find any photos of her and the mutant. plenty of pics of her with her other 2 dogs but no mutant. i wonder if she didn't dump its ugly ass after it tried to kill her real dogs.

please post here if you find a pic of anniston and her pit bull.

this posting brings to mind pupcakes uppity , annoying fur mommy . gets a supposed service pit for her supposedly disabled child , then makes a career of causing incidents wherever she goes with the ugly thing .

i keep getting comments from nutters about how i abused a poor disabled child , just because i made some honest observations about her freaky disfunctional idiot parents .

I googled, "Jennifer Aniston adopts pit bull", and I found her on Ellen DeGeneres showing pictures of the pit bull named Sophie. This was from February 2012. No recent photo ops with the precious pup. Of course, they claim Sophie is a "mix."

thank you BAM. i went back and googled again, this time videos and i found this interview where she says it is a pit boxer mix.

then i did another google and found this photo which doesn't actually show anniston's face but it does provide a glimmer as to why we don't see any real photos of anniston walking sophie and her GSD, Dolly. i am guessing a female pit bull didn't take well to a female GSD.

I don't want this to get lost in the comments of the 'liberal shits' post, so posting it here -- I hope that's okay.

Republican lawmaker Steube (Sarasota, FL) wants to change the law after a dog bit a child's ear off. This Republican wants dogs to get a chance to tell their entire psychology and history after maiming a child, so we can maybe forgive them if there are enough Freudian reasons why the dog did it.

I don't get why these idiots defend pit bulls so vehemently and spend so long "advocating" for them in the first place. Why aren't they using their time trying to change people's mind on habitat destruction, global warming and pollution of the environment instead?

If they are such bleeding hearts that they can't stand to see animal suffering why are they promoting pit bulls which are HIGHLY ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE and harm other animals so frequently?

They should "advocate" for something worthwhile instead. Stop taking up space on this planet for a shitty dog breed and try to get some endangered animals off the endangered list - advocate for wolves instead perhaps. They're big and fierce but they're natural and they rarely ever hurt people.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

from the perspective of the nutter, all lives probably do matter. it is important that their mutants have living chew toys. it is the deaths that they don't care about.

I was attacked by a dog and it was a very traumatic experience. My heart definitely goes out to any dog attack victim, and of course human safety comes before animal safety. I will say though that the animal that got me over my fear of dogs was the Pitbull. I recently started volunteering at a animal shelter and there is just no dog that compares to the friendliness and love of a pitbull. They are so happy and so excited and they are more interested in licking you than anything else. Just my personal oppinion.

I attended a "Dock Dogs" show. To understand what I'm talking about, this is the sports website: http://dockdogs.com/ The participants were mostly retrievers (of course), but there were a few other hunting/working breeds in the mix as well. All were well-trained and very professional.

Well, there was one pit at the event. The dog handler was wearing an oversized pro-pit bull t-shirt and was covered in tattoos (a marked difference from the other dog handlers). The pit was the only dog that I saw that absolutely refused to jump in the water. The handler's time ran out and he took his dog off-stage.

A little bit later, he got a second chance and the pit once again refused to jump in the water. Finally, just before the buzzer went off, it went in the pool (actually just stepped off the dock into the water--it didn't jump as the dogs are supposed to) and then it ignored the toy it was supposed to retrieve from the water (also the only dock dog who wouldn't retrieve).

I thought the whole time--sorry, pit nutter, no matter what you pretend, you can't mold these dogs into doing work and dog sports they were never meant to do.

Dear Anonanutter,

Thank you for sharing your heartwarming story. That totally dissolves the reality that 4 people have been killed by pit bulls since August 22, 2015. I know comparing being attacked by a dog (no breed mentioned, so very vague description) and being killed by a pit bull are a little hard for you to grasp. Let me put it this way. You were attacked by a dog, and you are here to talk about it. The people that are attacked by pit bulls suffer catastrophic injuries, and not only lose limbs, but their lives as well. So it's a little harder for people without hands to type, and people without their lives to talk.

Anonanutter, keep pushing your lies, and see how many more people die. I'm so glad that only a pit bull could get you over your fear of dogs. It's only a matter of time before a pit bull acts out what it is genetically predisposed to do, and hopefully you'll be on the receiving end of that "friendliness and love of a pit bull."

Happy pit bull day ya'll!

Okay, I'm seriously so pissed off I'm ready to explode.

Bryan Bickell had a fundraiser in Wauconda, IL this afternoon. His stupid foundation raises money for pit bull awareness, then uses said pit bulls to help children? I don't know, seems like a dumb idea to me.

http://www.nwherald.com/2015/09/09/steve-sarley-wauconda-to-host-bryan-bickell-bass-tournament/ajrucpd/

Next, I got a text alert that some dangerous pit bulls would be allowed to go back home without being declared dangerous after attacking a dog and two people! This is in McHenry, IL.

http://www.nwherald.com/2015/09/11/mchenry-pit-bulls-who-attacked-neighbors-dog-spared-death-sentence/ag574oe/?page=1

Lastly, I saw a "service pit bull" in a grocery store in McHenry, IL today, complete with a vest, a leash also claiming that it was a service dog, and my favorite part, a spike collar! People were allowed to pet said "service pit bull" because, you know, that's how service dogs roll!

The issue of pit bulls has reached a boiling point for me today. Thanks for being here for me to vent. I feel a little steam escaping, and maybe I'll be okay in a little while.

Hi, I guess I'm anonynutter, I'm shocked that anyone would wish someone to get attacked by a dog, especially a complete stranger who has never hurt them, I find this a odd, not so great aspect of human nature. I further wonder why someone would want someone who volunteers in there spare time to help animals get attacked. That being said I do not wish the same thing at all for you, I have been attacked by a dog and it is a horrible experience.
I will try to make my experience a little less vague for you, I was seventeen and I was walking to church, a young man had lost his dog (it was a medium sized black mixed dog) I tried to help the young man locate it's dog, when it saw me it ran over to me and started to bite my legs, tearing my jeans. Later on it attacked a child and it had to be put down.
I'm not an idiot, I realize that there are differences in severity of attacks, and I'm not one of those people that think a Chihuahua is more dangerous than a larger dog, but in my personal experience I have met two aggressive Pit-bulls. As a person I can only go by certain things. Of course I have researched this, henceforth being on this website, but also I trust the animals I have met and there owners.
I have never walked a dog before I walked these animals at my local shelter, the shelter workers were very careful who they paired me with as they did not want me to be pulled too much while walking, and they mostly paired me with Pitts, these are people who work with these dogs seven days a week. These are also dogs who have not had the best life, some have been abused or abandoned.
To the first anonymous poster I am sorry if the "my dog will lick you to death" seemed trite, I was not saying it to be so. What I was saying was that some people like there dogs to be a bit more aloof, I like a dog that will run over to me, lick me, and sit on my lap. Most of the Pits I have met are just like that. The one Pit I deal with will actually try to sit on my lap and he will bury his head in my shoulder.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

you were 17 when you were attacked, how many years ago was that?

Anonymous said...

scurrilous amateur blogger- longer than I would like to admit, I'm in my early thirties now :)
I completely understand why you have this blog and why you feel the way you do, and I'm not one of those people that would begin to compare a Chihuahua attack with that of a pit-bull. Even if little dogs had horrible temperaments, they can't begin to inflict the damage that a pit can. I guess my question to you would be is there that much of a difference between a Pit and any other large dog, such as a Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Great Dane, St. Bernard, etc?
I agree that children should not be near big dogs like this, and I would agree that if a dog is aggressive it needs to be euthanized, human lives always come before animals. I just have not personally had any bad experiences with a pit-bull. In my case they have always been friendly, and several of them were beyond aloof but very friendly, jumping up licking me, trying to sit on me, etc.

Anonymous said...

Anonanutter,

My heart bleeds for you. You are just as misunderstood as the pit bulls you were so carefully paired with. Pit bulls are the only dogs with magical powers that can transform a once frightened 17-year-old, into a calm, reassured, educated, compassionate, nutter.

If you think you're saying anything new, you're not. We've heard it all before. No one gives a shit that pit bulls did anything for you. Why don't you check out the 4 recent victims that I talked about? One just so happened to be a hardcore nutter, Nicole Cartee. I'm sure she said the same drivel you did. Look where it got her. In a grave at the age of 25.

Anonymous said...

scurrilous amateur blogger-I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I am thirty-three now, and my whole family also remember this incident. It was something that was quite traumatic for me so I did tend to dwell on it more than just any other occurrence that happened at seventeen.
BAM- It seems that you dislike me, which is odd since you never have met me. I don't know what I'm saying that is so incredible, or inflammatory. I'm always willing to research and learn. If I'm wrong about my stance I would be more than happy to change it. I simply stated in my personal experience, the majority of the Pit-bull type dogs I have encountered have been very nice.
I never said that they have magical powers, or anything like that. I am not a "nutter." Human life to me always comes first, and I do think there should be more regulations on large dog breeds, and I think if any large dog attack a person it should be put down, it's almost certain to attack again.
My question which no one seems to answer is how are pit-bulls any more dangerous than Rottweiler's, or Doberman Pinschers, or St. Bernard's, or Great Danes, or any other large breed of dog.
I am not necessarily against BSL, but I think that it is not the best solution to the problem of dog attacks. We can ban the Pit-bulls, but what about other aggressive large dogs?

Anonymous said...

scurrilous amateur blogger,
I have read this blog the past few days extensively and have also took a hard look at my experiences and have changed my opinion.
I don't know what it was that changed my mind, perhaps the fact that a lot of these pro-Pit pictures were not what they were touted to be. Perhaps it was the comment I read about the type of enclosure that is needed to keep a pit-bull (oh my, I never heard of such a thing, save for a wild animal.) It could have been some of the videos and pictures of helpless animals and most grievous children being mauled.
I thought about the Pit-bulls I encountered. They seemed friendly but when I look back they were way over the top. The one Pit(only five months old) kissed me with such voracity that he literally busted my lip (I don't think this is normal dog behavior.) Another Pit-bull was once again frantically trying to lick me, but when my dad approached it, he growled at him. And another Pit mouthed me so hard that my whole forearm was bruised and swollen (not normal either.) I realized that out of all the Pitts I met there are only two that I could recommend to families, the others were all too jumpy, strong, etc.
I looked at some of the feel good stories about Pit-bulls rescuing people. One story a Pit-bull runs to aid a woman being attacked, for some reason they won't show the dog on camera. Being a Christian I believe these few cases of Pit heroism has more to do with His intervention and the owners of these dogs helping the people.
I can't entirely blame myself. I'm a young woman who is just getting over liberalism, I loved the idea of a Pit-bull. What was cooler than the under-dog, the gentle giant, the misunderstood powerful animal with a heart of gold. I started to understand that there are other big dogs, who are friendly such as Newfoundland's and Malamutes. These dogs weigh more than Pitts and they don't maul children.
At first the comments on here offended me but I realized that no one wished me harm, or to even hurt my feelings, they were trying to shake me out of my illusion.
I do feel sorry for the Pit-bulls (not as sorry as I feel for the victims.) because they were genetically bred to do what they do,and they will more than likely be killed or die in a shelter because of it. This isn't the fault of "haters" but the fault of the breeders and lobbyists who try to sucker in people like me.
I then thought of some of the Pit-bull people I've met, they often seem to blame the victim and they can be pushy. I walk to work, a yard I go by has a 'no dogs' sign, after reading this site, I had to ask the owners why. They told me because there neighbor has a pit-bull that used to go to the bathroom in there yard, this continued to the point that they had to put signage out.
I realized that maybe I had the dog breed bias. Was a Pitt cooler than other dogs because it's big or can inflict damage? I would never want a dog who hurt people anyways. Is a pit-bull more loving than other dogs? Don't all dogs do silly, funny things?
In the end I feel there is a difference between Pit-bulls and normal dogs, and there is a difference between Pit-bull owners and normal dog owners. Normal dog owners do not need to shove there dog down your throat, normal dog owners respect other dog owners and non dog owners, they don't need to have a dog for self esteem or a political statement, they want a family pet to love and take care of.
The difference between Pit-bulls and normal dogs are that normal dogs do not need break sticks, heavy duty enclosures ,tutu's ,clown makeup, catchy slogans, they don't need to "lick people to death" or be "nanny dogs." Normal dogs can just be sweet pets that make our life a little easier and happier.
God bless. BTW-feel free to post this here or anywhere you wish, I want you and your readers to know that they helped.

Anonanutter,

No one was answering your question, because you didn't ask it until now. Go do your research on your own. It's not that difficult to discover why pit bulls are more dangerous than other dogs.

It's true, I don't like you. You're coming across as a benevolent troll. Oh, gosh Bam, I don't understand why you don't like me since you've never met me...

You come here typing shit about being attacked by a dog that you can't even describe other than it was black, and then tell your lovely, heartwarming story about how pit bulls got you over your fear. NO ONE CARES! At least not on this anti pit bull site. You are not going to change anyone's mind about pit bulls, so don't waste your time. You're so open to be educated, go educate yourself.

BAM

Anonymous said...

Okay anon,

You came across as trying to change our minds, when you were trying to make up yours. Pit bulls are different, and not in a good way. Any dog like thing a pit bull can do, normal dogs can do. When a pit bull acts normal, it's somehow justification that pit bulls make good pets. All pit bulls are capable of inflicting devastating injuries. There's no way to tell which pit bull is going to launch an attack. The best way to deal with a pit bull attack is to prevent it. It's a little late to do anything after the fact.

The over the top pit bulls you met are normal pit bulls. Pit bulls do not have the same boundaries as normal dogs do toward humans. Pit bulls don't even follow dog social ques. The only problem I have with your last post is, recommending ANY pit bulls to families. Pit bulls do not make good pets, are a threat to everyone around them, and should never be brought into a home, period.

BAM

Cardinal said...

Anon -

Every living creature has a default amount of aggression along with instincts like territorial aggression, parental aggression, etc. While reading this website, you probably found that most dogs were bred for decreased aggression. This makes them capable of living among people, because they try to avoid physical injury to any party and only fight as a last resort (usually a fast fight with another dog, without puncture wounds or grievous injury).

Some breeds were bred for aggressive traits, namely fighting, guarding, and some hunting breeds. Guarding breeds can be scary, and they have been deadly. But they were bred to exhibit warning signs of an attack, in attempt to scare off the target and prevent the attack. These dogs were bred to protect, not kill.

In fighting breeds, "inhibition" in the brain is discouraged entirely. Pit bulls are the only fighting breed--the only dog breed, period--made for the sole purpose of killing as a sport. To maximize efficiency in their work, pit bulls were bred to attack without warning or provocation, and to be very, very hard to stop. Another dog that rolled over in submission would not be left alone by a pit bull--it would be disemboweled. The claim that "pit bulls weren't bred to be people-aggressive" is only a half-truth. Since the pit bull's purpose is explosively pointless, their aggression can strike anyone. And it has. Pit bulls are too unpredictable to be considered a family pet.
