Plea for help from a reader

I now live in fear as my boyfriend adopted a pit bull. She is a rescue, We both treat her with so much love but despite our efforts she becoming extremely aggressive. I have trained many dogs successfully but I cannot get this dogs trust. She lunged at me twice to cause me harm. Thankfully I was not bitten yet. I cannot go near my boyfriend anymore, If I touch him in any way she whines and goes into a tantrum especially if we are showing affection towards each other. She will run and jump to separate us. I can no longer sit on the couch as she bullies me off of it every time. Outside of the house she lunges at every passing citizen, cyclists men women children dogs cats basically everything that has a heartbeat, snapping her jaws at them with her crazy eyes fixated at them . I am absolutely terrified. I have to pull with all my might to stop her from harming someone. I now refuse to walk her. She even tries to lure people by wagging her tail and then suddenly agressavely lunging at them like mentioned in the article. She bit a mans hand and drew blood, she lunged and nearly sank her teeth in to a few peoples thoughts. I desperately pleading on giving her up but he insists that she is just a poor misunderstood puppy. I am overreacting and I must be jelous and a cruel person for even talking about it. She is 85 pounds and still growing. There is no reasoning with him. He will keep the dog no matter what. He does not train the dog at all and insists that she can do whatever she wants any time. I am literally living in fear for my life and everybody's well being. I cannot sleep anymore as I feel her eyes staring at me. I feel trapped in my own home always feel like I am walking on egg shells. The stress is taking its toll on me. I know what I need to do but I cannot betray my boyfriend and yet I do not want somebody getting hurt either. Do I just disappear. My life has now became a nightmare. Please anyone please give me the strength to get through this difficult time.

this dog needs a dirt nap asap.

assuming that you are alone with her at times, the first chance that you get, take her to a vet and have her euthanized.

if you are unable to do what's necessary, leave.

I think you answered your own question, dear.

Run run run and don't look back!

Two words: Move Out!

Your boyfriend's a nutcase and I hope that you've been smart enough not to have any kids by him. Leave him now and be thankful you don't have children to protect.

If your bf doesn't care what you think, that's not a good bf. This will happen with other issues, provided you're alive to debate with. GTFO ASAP!

i agree with the previous comments re:your boyfriend but i hope dirt nap that pit first. imagine how you'd feel if that thing seriously hurt someone or killed another animal. kill it. find a vet who will do it and turn pittie's lights out.

I have to believe this is a hoax letter.

I just can not comprehend any human above the age of 5 years old writing a letter like this if it was a true story and needed advice.

This can't end well. Save yourself.

The dog desperately needs a dirt nap but if you do this without the BF's knowledge and his agreement he will make your life a living hell. In fact, the living conditions you describe are abusive. Don't walk away from this, run like hell.

You have already stated that you know what you have to do, do it.

Similar situation: man had a mastiff that was doing same thing. Live-in girlfriend had same concerns you do. On the sofa one night watching TV, she did something (what? who knows? probably something as benign as reaching for the remote) and the dog lunged for her throat. She managed to get her hand up just in time to keep the 140-lb dog from ripping her throat out, but she sustained punctures to her neck and her hand was really torn up because it took the brunt of the attack. Three surgeries later, she still cannot do basic things you take for granted - dialing a phone, texting, using a computer keyboard, tying your shoelaces, playing piano, even putting on her makeup. It was her dominant hand - the one we use for everything. Girlfriend told him it's me or the dog, it needs to be put down. He chose the dog. She moved out and they broke up.

Leave now before this dog kills you.

What is wrong with people? This relationship sounds sick and unhappy.I hope it a hoax, but I've read too many of these now, weird and sickening combinations of spousal abuse and pit bull attacks.

This person needs to find some self respect and leave. Never look back, and cut loose anyone else with a pit bull in your social circles. Too many times people are being disfigured or killed visiting a friend with a pit bull.

Leave now while you still can. Do you think judging by his behavior he will care if the dog seriously harms or kills you? NO. He will excuse the dog. Get out of this unhealthy relationship now. The best case scenario is the dog harms someone else and you are named in the lawsuit- is that any better? Or you are named in the court trial. No matter how you slice it, YOU lose if you stay.

AND after I left I'd write animal control a report about this dogs out of control vicious behavior and send it to them via certified mail, naming as many incidents as possible with dates, times and places.

Rescue pit bulls are the scariest creatures on earth. If you can't euthanize the pit bull, at least take it back to the shelter. When a dog bites and breaks the skin, it is supposed to be reported, the dog is supposed to be quarantined for 10 days, preferably at the city pound, and proof of rabies is required. It doesn't sound like the pit bull biting a man was reported. If you know who the victim is, you should contact them. Get as much information about the bite as possible. When did it happen, was it reported, did the victim go to the ER or his doctor's office? Once you get the information, take it to Animal Control. Make sure they make a record of it. Having one offense can show that the pit bull is a dangerous animal. Some jurisdictions require a record of one other attack before they take action.

If I were you, and it were my home, I'd make the boyfriend and his pit bull leave. That was if I was the owner. Do it legally. Give him whatever notice is required, sometimes it's 30 days. If you are both on the lease, get out of your half of it and move out. There is no reasoning with "nutters". Our term for people that believe pit bulls make great pets.

Lastly, if there is no way out, make sure you have a weapon that can take out a pit bull. Carry it with you at all times. Never let your guard down. Keep the thing contained. It is difficult, but find a sturdy kennel. Use extra fortification to keep the pit bull from busting out of it. Or, keep the thing locked in a room. The less interaction with the pit bull, the safer you'll be.

The worst thing about all of this is, you can try as hard as you want to protect everyone else from the pit bull, but there is nothing stopping the pit bull from coming after you. Once you realize you are powerless without the right equipment, you are as good as dead. Pit bulls are not to be treated like other dogs. Other dogs don't try to kill you for fun

SLAY RIDE
Just hear those dog chains jingling
Muscles tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a slaying together with you
Outside it’s ripe for mauling
Our owners calling, "Yoo hoo"
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a slaying together with you

Pittie up, pittie up, pittie up, Let's go
Let's give ‘em a show
We’re playing in a reddening of snow
Pittie up, pittie up, pittie up
It's grand, just gripping your hand
Our jaws are too strong for a Kong
We far prefer guts and glands!

Our teeth are nice and rosy
And comfy cozy are we
We're snarled up together
Like two canine aggressors should be
Let's take that road before us
And rigor mortis a few
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a slaying together with you

There’s a children’s pony
At the home of Farmer Gray
It'll be the perfect ending of a perfect day
We'll be swinging our jaws
We love to cling without a single stop
At the farmer’s place, we’ll just watch
The leg bones pop, Pop! Pop! Pop!

There's a happy feeling
Nothing in the world can buy
While they pass around excuses
For the bandaged thighs
It’ll nearly be like the fighting pit
From which our name derives
These wonderful things are the things
We remember all through our lives!

Chorus

Take the dog to a vet to be euthanized and cremated when bf isn't home, and then leave him and go live with a family member or good friend at the soonest opportunity. If he asks where the dog went say it escaped and ran away. Don't admit you euthed it or he'll exact vengeance on you (as per normal nutter operating procedures).

If he harasses you get the police involved and get a restraining order. Don't accept this bullying behaviour, and don't accept this toxic relationship.

You all are fucking retards. I hope every last one of you stupid, ingrate sacks of shit get mauled by a fucking german shephard. Dumb sons of bitches.

Anonymous said...

Will Hickey, I understand all of your sentiment except for the use of the word "ingrate". To what do we owe ingratitude? Please explain. Also. Shephard is spelled Shepherd. "Herd" is the descriptive root. When invoking terrible retribution, please check spelling. This retard dumb son of a bitch enjoyed watching you maul yourself with your own worn -out reflexive nutter convulsions.

"Give Spot and ALL who perish in the jaws of Pit Bulls BACK to the world in the only way possible - post their names and their stories, so that they can save other lives, even though they lost their own."

I'm so sorry that I've posted this comment so late. I was deterred.

"I say kill them all they aren't good for nothing." YUP that's the story. These animals are canine sociopaths. Every establishment proves it--insurance, rent, etc.

So are their owners and supporters. Thanks for proving that once again Willtard!

True fact. Xylitol is poisonous to dogs. Be sure to keep your sugar free gum away from your pibble. Caution do not order a big bag of Xylitol from Amazon & Spill it on the floor & Leave it there as you go shopping for a few hours. Definitely, don't mix it with Raisins 1st. Heard those were poisonous to dogs as well.
