I don't know about the rest of you, but I've had the misfortune of dealing with these rescue angels on a firsthand basis. Mostly women. And, to put it politely, quite disturbed.

Did I mention that they tend to have a great deal of difficulty in their interpersonal relationships?

I only know one, and that does describe her perfectly...

where are the bloody dog pics from?

Your Quiet Neighbor,

Yep, I've had a few run ins with "rescue angels". My latest one was with a lady who didn't know me and evaluated my 8 month old GSD. Somehow we got on the subject of pit bulls...which I didn't really want to get into. When I told her I don't let my dogs play with pit bulls, and why, she went on for a little longer then politely changed the subject.

Well, a month later, one of her rescues, during off lead training, grabbed a hold of a Golden Retriever and drug it to the ground. From what I could tell, there was no provocation from the other dog. The fight, if you want to call it that, was handled quickly.

Mind you, before this not so tragic accident, I noticed her husband giving me "the look" every so often. I must have been their dinner table topic after I explained why I don't let pits play with my dogs.

Well, after that incident, they wouldn't even look at me and I so wanted to jump up and down, point, and say, "I told you so!", but I didn't. But I so wanted to!

I usually get bashed for having a pure bred dog, not so much that I hate pit bulls. I suppose I have too many hippie friends.

pit nutters are horrible excuses for upper pyramid predators but these rescue dingbats really make my skin crawl. i only hope lady karma brings on darwin attacks to make the insanity acceptable.

It was terrierman who first wrote "saluting the inherent risk in life", right?

I hate to break it to him, but the human enterprise has been all about MINIMIZING the inherent risk in life. If our ancestors did not do this from a point of rational self-interest, humans would be extinct and at the very least terrierman wouldn't be writing his blog.

like dying by pit-bull is an acceptable fact of life? also i quess it used to be that getting hit by a car was the biggest risk to pets , now its getting chewed to death by a mutant . just because there are so many fucking idiots that think its cool to have these dogs . no good reason like they are good guard dogs or they protect kids or they are obedient .....all baloney.

i find photos and other stuff on the internet and throw them in a folder for a rainy day. this image is in a folder called bloody pits. i have so much of this stuff, i can't even manage it. if i don't use it immediately, i tend to forget about it.

Here in Tucson, the rescue angels have their own very special blog. Here are two recent posts:

1. Primp your pit bull!

http://tucsoncitizen.com/tucson-tails/2012/07/17/tucson-for-pitbulls-20-spayneuter-nail-trim

2. Poor Widdle Wennox. Because BSL Weally Sucks!

Note the date of the Pit -n- Proud rally. It's just one week before this can't-miss event:

Pit bull nutters scream DISCRIMINATION then turn around and have a PIT BULL BREED ONLY spay/neuter program...with nail clipping?

Yet another contradiction.

I don't think "Pimp Your Pit Bull" and spay/neuter makes much sense. No nuts = No pimp

Yet another contradiction.

Really?????

I'd do it myself, but I lack the skills.

The other thing that really torques my jaw about the pit bull primping, er, pimping, event is the graphic being used to promote it. Nothing like a little racial stereotyping, is there?

A more accurate graphic would show the many African American victims of pit bull attacks.

Rumpelstiltskin said...

Oh it's primp. Since pit bulls are so popular with drug guarding and crime, I misread it.

if any of you have netflix (instant) there is a pit bull episode of animal hoarders that recently got uploaded. The description says a dude thinks he is on a mission from god to save pit bulls, so he has like 80 of them. Might make some blog fodder for CD.

DubV,
Yes it was terrierman who made that statement. He was talking to me, specifically.

A great deal of what he had to say to me sounded like a drunken ramble. The rest sounded like self important narcissism.

Eh, I must admit I have no problem with low-cost or free spaying/neutering for pit bulls.

However, in that article it notes that so many pit bulls end up in shelters because of "negative public perceptions associated with the breed."

Negative perceptions, my ass. Pit bulls are ditched in shelters because the typical pit bull owner is an idiot who will eventually figure out that these dogs don't make good pets. Idiot pit bull breeders are also churning out puppies despite the fact that there are too many of them, and no one sensible buys them. The result is a fuckton of active, potentially aggressive dogs in the hands of negligent idiots.

ok, so the animal hording guy only had 19. They were all chained on a huge property so that they wouldn't kill each other. He brought 4 of them into the house at once and a fight broke out on camera between two of them, and the other two scrambled to get in on the action. Luckily the guys mom was there to help restrain the other dogs, shit looked like it was about to get ugly. Also, the dogs have killed 2 of his family members pets, tore up his mothers house completely. He had a kid who was like 3 waltzing around with all the dogs. He picked most of the dogs up after finding them at large.

The temperment tester from the humane society said he did a "great job" with the dogs because "about 90 percent" passed her test (fake arm, fake baby kind of shit). What the fuck? I want to know if 1/10 of dogs failing a temperment test is considered a "great" result for other breeds, because it seems pretty fucking unlikely to me. I'm going to watch more animal horders w/dog horders to compare.

i have one and ONLY one problem with low cost spay neuter for pits, with free nail trim, free rabies vaccine, free microchipping, free obedience classes, free t-shirts, free tattoos, free carton of cigarettes... and that is the same lying fucktards who scream that we are racists and we can't identify pit bulls are the same lying fucktards who are passing out these freebies to JUST pit bulls.

"The temperment tester from the humane society said he did a "great job" with the dogs because "about 90 percent" passed her test (fake arm, fake baby kind of shit)."

animal control, shelters and humane societies are overrun with these freaks. it's hard to turn down jane's money.

i will check that out too. i saw another hoarder documentary and it grossed me out to see people living like that. i watched 2 or 3 episodes and called it quits. one of them was a cat hoarder. these people make me nuts.

im ok with free dirt-naps for mutants and some of their enablers, select pittophiles , pit -skanks, rescue dingbats and chubby foster daddies. too bad its not caught on yet but maybe soon.

Anonymous said...

these no kill freaks are really freaking me out . squirly damn psycho-bitches are scarier than their mutants. just looking at their nasty freaky little faces make me feel like one of their mutants has me by the ....well , where it counts.

safer midwifery utah said...

So I watched episodes where people horded other kinds of dogs and they were all living together instead of chained up in intervals. I haven't seen any fights break out besides that one episode either. I think the pit bull hording guy probably got the worst pits by picking them up off the roadside though. It seems like he made no effort to return them to whoever originally owned them.

It is a hard show to watch, less so when you know that basically all of them make positive changes in the end after being told how selfish it is.

FANTASTIC POST! Thanks for putting faces to the imbecilic comments. These ladies were emotionally stunted at the age of 12.

"I hate to break it to him, but the human enterprise has been all about MINIMIZING the inherent risk in life."

DubV exactly! And this is why the "responsible owner" bullcrap is a myth.

Dogs are, and have been for hundreds of years, in so many homes in every single community with virtually zero regulation because most dogs are safe EVEN WHEN THINGS GO WRONG.

The reason any nincompoop can be in possession of a dog is that a dog historically has been pretty safe (for the public) in the hands of a nincompoop.

When my neighbor gets a lab, I don't feel like my safety in his hands. With these moronic nutters, think they get to be an inherent risk in my life. not likely.

Creepy, icky, ew! And the pit photos are gross, too! See the glee on that blood soaked pit's face?

I agree with so much of what you say, Snack. I grew up on Air Force bases, where practically everyone had a dog, most "purebred," and everyone kept them on chains in the yard. Children walked everywhere, through peoples yards all the time, and we always went to say hi to the chained dogs. Only one incident in 16 years of living on bases, and it was very small puncture, nothing like the puncture wounds pits inflict. I do remember one aggressive dog that was behind a fence. I don't even know what the dog looked like.

Those were good days....

i actually prefer the blood soaked pit faces to the squirly, freaky dingbat ones. just saying , id rather die quickly by pit than slowly by dingbat.

Anonymous said...

awwwww, just look at their little pointed faces. the love , trust , the compassion and eagerness to relate to another species of psychopath..... involuntary gastric spill anyone?

Anonymous said...

the mutants might have blood on their faces but the dingbats have blood on their hands .

Snarky, you are scarier than any bulldog I've ever met. And that includes the dogs I've rehabilitated - and the ones I've had to euthanize - rescued from dogfighting.

Again, fanaticism is fanaticism. Wishing harm on people and calling them names does not further your cause.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

snarky, in case you couldn't tell by his moniker, is a smart ass.

I am one of the women in the photographs posted above. I am saddened and shocked that anyone would falsly copy my information and paste it to a photo of a vicious animal, and quote me as saying I feel it should be free to run the streets. That is entirely false. To clarify, I do support rescuing adoptable animals and am entirely against euthanizing innocent trusting animals. Not all animals are good or bad, as the same is true with humans; I'm sure all would agree. I do not appreciate having my photo, identity and statement(s) twisted by a complete stranger, and would think that anyone would feel the same way. Whoever did that should be ashamed and rectify what was done.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

i copied your comment verbatim. those were your exact words in regards to pit bulls that were deemed too aggressive for the shelter staff to temperament test.

here is the link

you should be ashamed.

i have a pdf and a screen shot. you can not deny

Reverend Bindy....I don't know what denomination you are, but I wasn't aware that animals have a concept of god, or faith in same. Animals may be interested to learn that god, in the bible, continually calls for animal sacrifices, once annihilated all but a few animals and humans in a sadistic, prolonged slaughter (ticked at getting too few animal sacrifices, among other things) and in general treated the animals and groveling faithful quite arbitrarily, if not viciously. Perhaps you should refresh your online ordination?

Sticky stalactites of congealed gore
Urge the sweetheart to collect yet more
And though it may mean a minglicked-to-death door,
"Do it again!" I'll moan and implore

The terror I see in Sweetheart's eyes
means only that lack of Love's devise
and my pink-sugar heart is a popular prize
as dozens of convicts would quickly advise.

Oh, let me embrace you, Sweetheart, maligned!
my forgery's perfect, my alias I've signed
You can play with their pets... so paltry if fined!
And may the cop who takes aim be partially blind.

And now I've worn out my glands sooo lachrymal
are you a pit bull or an example apocryphal?
Will our time in bed be brief or historically epochal?
Let blood and tears mingle, my stoney-eyed pitfall
No longer must I the State Pens trawl
Until I find sadder, you're my forever and all.

Please take down that rhyme above.I know 2 dozen words and some of those I know arent those. Those aren't even real words. At LEAST I know when I see a SWEETHEART and you probably arent. So there.
