nutter priorities - pedophiles and pit bulls trump tax paying citizens' quality of life

MORENO YOHAI is in the news, AGAIN.

MORENO YOHAI aka RENO HABIFF

in six years, convicted felon and sex offender YOHAI has racked up $160K in code violations, his property has been cited as a nuisance - sanitary and public. in just three years, the police have responded to over EIGHTY complaints, some of those complaints were for animal cruelty. YOHAI has at least 34 live pit bulldogs living in crates and kennels and 40 dead pit bulldogs buried on his property. and yet mayor ERIC JONES claims they "cannot find anything illegal". while YOHAI claims he is rescuing pit bulldogs and saving the breed, his neighbors are trapped living next door to unimaginable smells, the continuous sound of barking and of course DANGER while their homes depreciate and they unable to find buyers at any price just to get the hell out of west park and away from YOHAI'S little house of stink and horror.

spokeswoman for Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, Lisa Mendheim says "We can't just take the man's animals. The dogs aren't starving or in danger."
i suspect the 40 mutants buried on YOHAI'S property would disagree.

an anonymous ACO she says "The real reason Animal Control hasn't stepped in is because all of the pit bulls will be put down [if they're taken. The shelter doesn't] have space for the dogs."
aah, there it is. the REAL reason the no kill nutter freaks who have infiltrated animal control WON'T do their job. a life in squalor is better than no life at all. in nutter eyes.

while you are poking around their website, trying to figure out who is in charge, check out this adoptable "lab pointer" on a catch pole.

lol , when you put it like that its not hard to see why nutters are so desperate to defend their mauling beauties. the charm of pitbulls may not work on normal people but it sure does work on certain types , classes and even races of people . oops . i didnt say that , thats ignorant and racist .
i guess the odd good person who owns a shitbull must feel theyre in very bad company .

I thought they were banned in Miami.

they need to ban nutters as well .

bring on the bronze bitch for those who let their own die in the jaws of pet pitbulls.

Orange dog,

One of the Greatest Pit Breeders of all time!

PS...It's too bad Yohai isn't a midget so he could have his own TV show on Ani-maul Planet Channel....

This pissed me off so I wrote a new, catchy slogan about it. Here it goes:

"A DITCH AND A SHOVEL FOR EVERY ABLE BODIED PIT BREEDER"

Her owners beat her! Wait, no! She was a bait dog! Oh, and she was bred! Why would worthless "bait" be bred? Who cares! Look at that delightful face!

orangedog said...

Oh, your right. It says he lives near the Miami border.

What is it with nutters and their "magical" experience with pit bulls?
"My mom was scared of dogs until I brought home a hideously ugly, dent-headed un-dog. As he licked her to death with his bear-trap maw, she was spellbound by his fetid breath and crocodile smile. After he stamped his magical anal glands all over her, she didn't even mind sleeping in a bed full of his feces!"

Yeah so I made that up, but needless to say, I don't believe this hoarder's fictional account of his mother and the mystical bulldog.

orangedog said...

Ugh, Packhorse. That thing looks like someone squeezed her head and twisted half of it sideways. There's no reason someone would breed a so-called bait dog. Why breed more losers right?
I bet people were lined up to adopt this fighting dog while nice normal dogs died in shelters.

I think I would go insane if this shitbag was my neighbor. 80 complaints and no authority can do ANYTHING?! I would get together with the neighbors and figure something out that is for certain. Life is too short to live next to that. I think I'd almost rather be in jail, at least you wouldn't have to hear the constant barking and live with the stench. Ugh.

They need to sue the city for not doing anything. Maybe that lawyer with the dog bite website has a suggestion?

Miss Margo said...

Jerks like this honestly get off on shooting their neighbors the bird. I believe that.

If I lived next to him, I'd honestly consider abandoning the property. Can you imagine living constantly with that simmering rage and resentment?

This guy's a freak but the real scandal here is the unwillingness of public officials to protect the justly aggrieved citizenry.

I took a look at the Broward.org website. It is unacceptable. All bureaucratic agency websites should have a clear mission statement and a personnel staff diagram of at least the management, with contact information, on the first page. Every public administration management seminar I've ever taken has taught that, and with good reason.

Lisa Mendheim, ac officer, is there working for the pit bull breeders and Best Friends pit bull sales lunatics, not the local citizens. The neighbors need to get together to get a lawyer to handle their corrupt ac and police department. If Lisa wants to get in the pit bull dealing business, she should do that, not use animal control for the benefit of pit grifters. Maybe she gave pit bulls to him?

The Broward county mayor should be ashamed. Surely there is a dog ownership ordinance and laws for so called rescue organizations? And all of those citations by private citizens are ignored. They need to give this mayor and his entourage the boot on election day. Noone should have to live around this sort of lunacy. It is smelly, loud and unsafe. Animal Control is in the pits. 40 dead dogs on the property and they let this monster keep this many dogs because they can't see any abuse. Just how do they expect he came to have 40 dead dogs on his property. PETA needs to come and do their thing...........

Ouch :( Much as I dislike pit bulls and want them spayed/neutered into oblivion (and aggressive ones dirtnapped post-haste), things like that are still painful to see.

As for Yohai's pack of mutants... Even if he lived out in the middle of nowhere and wasn't making life miserable for his neighbours, endangering their lives and sanity, those dogs would still be better off PTS than living that way. There's no excuse no matter how you look at it.

"Whatever happened to painless euthanasia being preferable to a life of suffering? When did people stop knowing this?"

tropical storms, good question.

This is my first time commenting but I had to since the subject of mislabeling dogs is a pet peeve of mine. My local no kill shelter had an employee visit our dog park. As she was chatting te subject of pit bulls came up. I live near where the wonderful Mr Vick lived and pit bulls are everywhere. She stated they never have pits at the shelter, they are always Lab/Boxer mixes. I went to their site and sure enough most of the pit mixes were labeled Lab/boxer or Lab/hound. Pits scare the crap out of me because my collie wouldn't stand a chance if one decided to make a snack of her.

Anonymous said...

mislabeling of pits happens everywhere, its just the sleazy nature of those who like these ugly dangerous dogs. perhaps they feel justified in lying and slithering in order to protect and harbor dogs that they feel are unfairly demonized. i dont really care what they think , i just care about what they do and what their dogs do .

Anonymous said...

Can't someone in the town start a recall petition to FIRE EVERYONE at animal non-control and get new people in there? Or file a Petition for Writ of Mandamus to get a court to ORDER them to do their damn job? If nothing else I'd start a strike with big signs in front of the office, 24/7.

Packhorse said...

I really think that this is done so if one of those dogs kills somebody, it won't be a "pit bull" in the headlines but rather a "Lab/boxer mix." Where are the lab and boxer clubs complaining about the bad name this mislabeling is giving their breeds?

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

i think the mislabeling of pits is done for two reasons. to increase their chance of adoption and to destroy the reputation of labs. nutters hate the fact that labs are more popular, more stable, ie far less dangerous and than their hideous pestilence of meatpile dogs.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

oops. what packhorse said. i should read all comments before replying.

Miss Margo said...

"i think the mislabeling of pits is done for two reasons. to increase their chance of adoption and to destroy the reputation of labs."

I KNOW! What is up with the Lab hate? Me, I'm a little partial to Goldens over labs, but labs are the Swiss Army Knife/Jacks of All Trade of the dog world. On the nutter forums I hear people bash them and claim that they are biters. I can't help but believe it's horseshit. I'm sure there are mean labs out there, but I've never met one. Seriously. What's a lab ever done to anyone?

And they'll work for you till they drop.

If I had to trust ONE breed of dog around a baby or helpless person, it would probably be a lab.

P.S. In the course of 3 months, my mom's mini daschund has become fat. My mother spoils her with too many treats. The dog is literally a sausage weiner dog now. And it's still a young adult. Things can only get worse unless the problem is addressed.

Is there a good diet dog food? The dog is walked several times a day, but given its morphology, exercise ain't gonna fix this.

I'm outsourcing this question because I know Mom hates to do internet research. TY.

JEALOUSY :-)

"On the nutter forums I hear people bash them and claim that they are biters. I can't help but believe it's horseshit."

I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THEY ARE REALLY LAB BOXER MIXES.

re: feeding dogs, well, too many treats are obviously bad but so is dog food. i recommend feeding dogs human food, they way they evolved. every monday, i buy 2 roasted chickens, tear off the meat and mix it with barley and chickpeas that was cooked in chicken stock. it feeds my 70lb dog for a week. i occasionally feed him scrambled eggs and cottage cheese too. i also give him a small amount of an organic kibble called organix. from what i can tell the dog food company is more diligent about quality control than human food companies. the ingredients are inspected and the final product is inspected. organix also has a reduced calorie version. if it is still a growing puppy then there are other dietary issues that need to be addressed.

Dawn, thank you re: cooking info and the Organix. I'm sending this all to my Mom now (not your Internet name or contact info, of course). Her dog is a pretty dapple creature, very cute and playful, but also demure. My heart is melting just typing about this dog.

I think the problem is that my mother feeds her junk WHENEVER she fees like it, and gives her treats..the food bowl is never empty.

P.S. "Slithering" in an awesome word and very apt to describe an enemy...

Miss Margo, when a neighbor's Lab , that we had never met, wandered over to our house while we were cooking on the grill, no one was terrified of making a wrong move. After the Lab was done being petted, she headed on back home.
If it had been a strange Pit, we would have all moved back inside.
Someone was walking an unleashed Pit in my neighborhood a few months back. The dog was about 20' in front of her so there was no way she could have caught it if it started homing in on someone. Talk about being in denial. I don't believe that Nutters don't know that pits are dog aggressive so I was stunned (I know, right?) that she would risk other people's pets - and neighbors. Stupid, stupid.

They have witnesses who can testify to abuse...

"Neighbors began calling the county Animal Control. "Multiple dogs die every month, and he abuses others," says nearby resident Brenda Paisao, who says she visits the house every day. "I saw one puppy pulled out of the cage, and the puppy broke its leg."

So, are you telling me that there are NO county or state health codes there? There are NO animal cruelty laws that can apply to animals living in filth, I am certain they are full of internal and external parasites? If you keep getting fined by the city, and you don't pay your fines, generally the fines increase, and eventually the city can put a lean on your house and take it. That's how it works where I live. Houses like this become sources of disease, they destroy neighborhoods....they end up attracting flies, roaches, and rodents, and become ground zero for infestations that spread to the neighborhood.

You cannot tell me, with eyewitness accounts of puppies with broken legs and dead dogs everywhere, that there are no "humane" groups willing to get involved. No, wait, humane groups can't get involved because they are full to the gills with pit bulls, and will end up stuck with these, since no one will want to adopt them.

Honestly, I have met mean and aggressive labs. I passed their house when I walked my dog. They would always rush the fence hackles raised and snarling. I think they were just bored out of their minds, high energy working dogs with nothing to do, no toys, nothing. Fence aggression is a real thing that can happen to any dog that doesn't get the socialization, training, exercise, and interaction they require. I know all labs aren't like that, though. They were totally out of character, not at all like the lab temperament is supposed to be. It was sad to see.

I agree with the human food thing. Natural is better than cereal. Fresh food is always going to trump processed. :) It's cheaper, too. At least for me, grocery prices vary according to region. Exercise is good too, but if the dog is already looking like a sausage, it's best to keep the exercise light. You could google Obie(I think that's his name, might be Odie), the obese Doxie, that should be a wakeup call for any Doxie owner...Due to their long backs, extra weight can do them serious harm.

Miss Margo said...

Thanks for all the input.

AC needs to be fired because they aren't doing their job. I guarantee they don't want those pits because if they seize them, the nutters will start pressuring them to adopt them all out. 1) Liability 2) huge money and time sink because 3) no one wants these dogs.
Meanwhile, these animals and neighbors suffer because AC has failed.

Branwyne, your comments are spot-on about the BS "we can't do anything" coming from those officials. All the points you made are exactly what COULD be done to stop that scumbag. The fact that he allowed a reporter from a major newpaper INSIDE his hellhole shows how insulated he feels to do whatever he wants. The article mentioned a dog with no fur; I was surprised not to see further details but the editor could have had something to do with that. I contacted the reporter because I want to know what other obvious signs of animal cruelty he saw (as if what he saw wasn't enough.)

One of the few comments on the article made a comparison to the Castro slime who held those three women captive in Ohio. I can't stand pit bulls but no animal deserves to be confined in a cage for life in a filthy environment. I'm shocked that there hasn't been a fire in all the years this has been going on. I am equally shocked that there has been no lien put on that dump for all the unpaid fines. Lastly, it is so refreshing to read the comments here about euthanasia. I cant believe it's come to this, that animal law enforcement agencies won't take action to clean up a monster hoarder case because to do so might mean the dogs get euthanized. This is another hideous trend that is a direct result of the no-kill movement. People have gone stark-raving mad.

Jake said...

Thanks for the canine cooking tips Dawn. I'm beginning to see that keeping the dogs supplied with good quality commercial dog food can get frightfully expensive. It's time to re-think things, and your observations about what dogs naturally eat are spot on.

I feed canned beef/lamb tripe and mix with a good kibble - usually one of the premium ones from Canada like Orijen. They also get a tin of sardines, and usually some table scraps during the week, eggs, yogurt, etc...
Sometimes they get frozen or dehydrated raw, but it's very expensive to feed one dog much less two.
I also like Honest Kitchen.
