a 17 yr veteran pittsburgh police officer was attacked by 3 pit bulls while out for an evening walk with her beagle, chihuahua and 5 yr old daughter. three 60 lb pit bulls jumped a fence and launched an attack. Officer Luffy put up a good fight until the owner came out and retrieved the dogs one at a time. Luffy received bites over her entire body, her beagle was bitten 9 times, her chihuahua was bitten 6 times, her daughter escaped injury. the pit nutter received 11 citations, including dangerous dogs and no city licenses.
Officer Luffy specializes in animal abuse investigations. she spoke to the city council a day after a man was mauled by his recently adopted pit bull. Luffy encouraged the council to promote spay/neuter, hire more ac officers and to be aware of the growing pit bull problem.
GERALD AKRIE, pittsburgh AC supervisor said there's not much you can do about ACCIDENTS. "Let's not look at the dogs. Let's look at the owner. Those dogs are reflecting the owner's temperament. It's not just pit bulls, it's any dog."

Gerald Akrie is going to get someone killed as he helps out dog fighters.
He's already on record now with his dog fighter lies and protection. When the inevitable killing by pit bull happens, Akrie will be sued, as will the city.
Akrie seems to think his job is helping dog fighters and tax cheat dog breeders.
Akrie just revealed his interests, and he is going to be directly responsible for deaths.

"The officer spoke about half a day after a man was attacked by his own pit bull in Crafton Heights.
That man remains hospitalized today after the dog he recently adopted from a relative severely bit him, animal control officers said.
The attack happened Monday night in the 1500 block of Obey Street when the man, who has not been indentified, went to give the 1-year-old pit bull a dog treat and then suddenly took it away, Animal Control Supervisor Gerald Akrie said.
The dog bit the man in the leg, possibly in an artery. Animal control officers examined the scene this morning.
"There was a lot of blood everywhere," Mr. Akrie said"

Since Nathan Winograd now colludes with dog breeder and dog fighter lobbies, Gerald Akrie is a DOG FIGHTER AND PIT BULL BREEDER freak.
No one involved in this kind of racket should be anywhere near a government job, never mind one involving public safety.
I cant believe how much hate some of you have towards gods creations it is the owner who mistreats or mistrains the dogs to be what they are and i know this because my pit has been attacked and literally turned his head away and walked away with his face cut and bleeding it is all about training socialization and getting your dog from a reputable breeder that breeds for tempermant not size and color.Has anyone noticed almost all of the pits that attack have ignorant tattoed thug drug addicted owners that encourage aggression and actually teach and breed ther dogs to be like that. what they should do is be more strict on the owners give them bigger fines jail time and put there dog to sleep if its bitten another dog or person because more then likely the dog was trained or bred to bite. If thy do ban pit bulls the thugs will just move onto a different breed and soon will want to ban that breed too they would probably move onto the rottweier, american bulldog, presa canario, cane corso, or american staffordshire but more then likely it would be the rottweiler because i already see it happening and ther just as beefy or macho as a pit with more bie power psi the only reason its not the breed of choice right now is because pit bulls are so cheap to buy 50-200 bucks
