For Catherine

For Catherine

Be Mine, my Love
turn not your face away
nor roll your tiny gimlet eyes
looking for easier prey
I'm yours, I'll not ever stray

Forget the horse, the cow, the sheep
memorize not my broken fence, too easy to leap
consider not the poodle, easy to defeat
I'm yours, yours, virginal and sweet

I've combed my hair to emulate your look
for my tattoos, every antibiotic I have took
for you, for you, my square-headed vice
I'd lie, I'd steal, I'd bolt in a trice
with you at my side our escape we'd enact
and snuggle together till the HATERS!!! react

How could they hate you, my calamitous heart?
My life now has meaning, from you I won't part
till a bad man with catch pole doth hustle you thither
while I wring my empty hands, wail excuses and dither
to none that understand that love most rarest
whether wiggle of butt or licked unto death
The truest Pit lover is them that is barest.

Sadfalada is the pit bull poet laureate. I've retired!

That reflects the one thing P-nutter have going that we sensible people don't-NO QUALMS. They will say or do ANYTHING to further their goals of pitties in every home. No shame, no conscience.

Wow, you captured the "love" beautifully.

Don't sell yourself short, though, Meals. You've got some great one's too.

I bet her poetry is great even when not inspired by devil dogs. :)

Great poem. The subtext to me was of one courting a mad man, but that is not nearly deep enough I am sure.

Can't some of this phenomena we see simply be chalked to a little understood phenomena of many women inviting into their lives "bad boys" that they will find excitement from and hopefully not deal with their aftermath?

It reminds me of the labs are boring theme. If labs are subpar dog because they lack drama, then I suggest you should not own dogs at this time.

This was equal parts beautiful, absurd, funny and scary. My favourite of all your poems so far.

You've really captured the distorted soul of a dingbat. Bravo!

NO, NO, NO!!!! I absolutely love your work--! I haven't seen any poetry on this site that hasn't delighted me, and made me think from a different perspective, laugh, or cry

Another great one, SadFalada! And Meals on Wheels, you're totally still in the game. With the ever-increasing number of pit attacks, we need as many excellent pit bull poets laureate as we can get!

meals don't talk such nonsense, you are an excellent poet.

my favorite line...
"for you, for you, my square-headed vice"

there was a nutter in ken foster's rag that grabbed my attention. she fit the line above. i plan on blogging her deranged ass, hopefully very very soon.

this poem really got me, in large part because of my growing preoccupation with creepy fur mommies. and yes dubv, i agree with you. this is connected to that bad boy/hybristophila complex.

Wow. Making fun of someone who died of cancer? This is a new low.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

i am not sure that the poet knew this creepy fur mommy died of cancer but i did and i don't care. it really doesn't matter how she died, she was a dangerous fucking flake in life. click on her name at the bottom of the poem.

Floyd Boudreaux is quite the dogman poet Sadfalad, you might want to check him out for some giggles.

Cancer is everywhere, the whole world is being eaten up by cancer, we've all been there as a first hand witness, or in fact have it ourselves. Cancer doesn't sanctify us or give us wisdom, has no malevolence or design in the terrible destruction and sorrow it causes.
People do have free will, and if that will guides one to promote and defend an animal well shown to be the agent of terrible suffering, disfigurement, and unpredictable mayhem on the helpless innocent, then may they go to hell...I imagine it to be well populated by pit bulls.

Pit bulls are a cancer that is spreading death, fear, and injury throughout otherwise decent American neighborhoods every day.

Yes, yes, and yes!

sadfalada and anonymous, your replies to that idiot were so much better than mine. thank you.

I have no idea why that posted multiple times. Dawn, thanks for the links, always fun to take a stroll down memory lane.

blogger is buggy. i don't know why that happens.

Thanks for putting that Floyd Boudreaux stuff in my head! I can't quite choose which lines I like most. Maybe this:

He knows not the meaning of a word called quit.
He lives on a chain, but he longs for the pit.

I'm swooning, because I took Sadfalada's advice and hit the wine box too. And it's only lunchtime.

That's not Floyd's only poem. Back in the day when he was eating, drinking and having a good ole time he could get quite rapsodic on the dogs.

SadFalda that's such charming verse. It's a shame you weren't hanging out with the Boudreaux clan and friends.

With my lute and flowered granny dress? Yes... many, many regrets...

haha! another great poem by sadfalada!

ts, i am not aware of any other poems by floyd. shoot me a link and i will add it to his collection.

I don't think there's anything else on line. He did have a few published in the PDR and earlier SDJs. I'll see if I can find something I might have here. A lot of those guys throughout history have fancied themselves writers.

Lol people find labs boring? In what way are labs boring? Hahaha! Nutters be cray cray. Labs are some of the least boring dogs ever.
Because we are getting a dog in a year or two I already know what kind of dog fits...something that is at least as lazy as I am.
Labs arent boring enough for this family.

Rhea L said...

Whether she died of cancer or not while alive if thats her picture she had no idea how to read dog body language as is evident by the photo.
What the dog is "saying" there is nothing nice or loving about that owner at all.
Pitbull nutters are terrible at understanding dogs and dog behavior and yet people put their trust in them and go bring a death machine home.
