inquiring minds want to know

kern county will be making their decision on thursday. it seems the immediate road ahead will be one of disappointment for TORRES. i suspect that she will attempt to meet and even exceed the criteria put forth by animal control. i do not see any way to get around the issues expressed by the kern county sheriff, although i am sure she will try.

questions for tia

1) why is your name not on any of your properties?

2) why does your website say you have 113 dogs available for adoption, yet you told kern county you are down to 50?

3) what happened to those dogs?

4) will you no longer be promoting yourself as the country's largest pit bull rescue?

5) who is your insurance carrier? who's name is on the policy?

6) why would a savvy businesswoman purchase a property for commercial use in a residential area without first securing the conditional use permit?

7) why was AJ's wrecked motorcycle at the house next door with a stolen motorcycle belonging to "another parolee"?

8) given the past criminal activity on the agua dulce property, what steps have you taken to better supervise your parolees?

9) why haven't you been filing the proper forms with the IRS?

and finally, inquiring minds really want to know, how do you explain your shift in pit bull history facts?

feel free to post your questions here.

"you never question or judge ones choices and or actions."

Is this some bizarro world crap that you got from reading "The Secret"? You question someone else's choices if: you care about them and they are hurting themselves or they are negatively affecting you or someone else. As far as judging, it is perfectly fine to judge. You do this continually and it is good and necessary. You are trying to be P.C. at pits and also this.

1) Tia Torres has stated that she is also using Villalobos Rescue as a BOARDING and TRAINING facility. This means that other people own some of these dogs. How many dogs does she own? How many are owned by other people? A boarding business is distinct from a charity or rescue. Wouldn't this require additional permit application for a separate DOG BUSINESS that she is running?

I am sure her plan is to keep to a certain number of dogs in her name, then have additional dogs in other people's names to get around any dog limits she may be given. She may try to license different groups of dogs in different names to avoid rules. She should be required IN WRITING to liense every single dog on that property in her name, and not be allowed any dogs in other people's names, or she loses her license. (Breeders commonly try to avoid kennel number limits by claiming that additional dogs belong to "other people" and therefore shouldn't be included in the limit of dogs set by the authorities. This is how numbers of dogs could illegally escalate into the hundreds, with expensive litigation necessary, especially for a woman who proudly threatens anyone that opposes her in any way, and who also claims she can do whatever she wants and doesn't have to follow laws or rules.)

In other words, PLAYING GAMES.

The head of Animal control in Kern County, Janice Anderson, is also a breeder who also runs a boarding business. Ms. Anderson should be well aware of the games that licensees hold to avoid limits. Will Ms. Anderson allow these games? Will she create loopholes so that Tia can avoid rules set by the county?

2) Also, the realtor who is on that deed must be present and interviewed, and sign any related paperwork. What are her future plans? Why is she on the deed? Is there some kind of trust that has not been revealed? She lives in Orange County, has a business there, and cannot supervise the activity at this property. WILL SHE TAKE LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT GOES ON ON THIS PROPERTY THAT SHE CO OWNS? Will she sign a document accepting legal responsibility, and showing her insurance carrier? Is her plan to drop herself off the deed after some kind of permit is obtained, so that she cannot be held responsible? Will she sign a document that requires her to remain on the deed, or relicensing would be necessary for a change in ownership? The realtor is Roni Veronica Raczkowski, who is also an employee of Best Friends Animal Society.

Will Best Friends take legal responsibility for their employee, Roni, should anyone get killed or mauled? Best Friends should be interviewed. Why is THEIR employee on the deed for Tia Torres' organization, and not even with Tia, but Tia's 19 year old daughter? What is Best Friends interest in this? They have already had a dog mauling from a pit bull at their property that resulted in death. Even Best Friends, with millions and millions of dollars, cannot adequately contain pit bulls and stop injury and killing.

"why why why,"

Because Tia is going to roast dogs in cages out in the desert.

And because this is not the "rescue" that her mindless followers believe it to be, from everything that has been revealed.

Fears about animal abuse, Aryan Brotherhood activity, abuse of donations, criminal activity, environmental pollution and damage.

No one who loves pit bulls would accept these issues.

Perhaps the Aryan brotherhood dog breeder biz does. DOESN'T IT!!

Tia Torres and Villalobos have already admitted that they cannot handle the unwanted visitors, stalkers (in her words), thrill seekers, and the multitude of others thronging to her current facility and insisting they be let in and allowed to stay.

It has gotten so bad that she has had to threaten visitors on her web page to stay away.

How can she handle restricting unwanted crowds of people coming to Villalobos in Tehachapi, especially now that she has put the address in the media and circulated it among her followers? What happens when visitors become violent and won't leave, or turn into squatters and trespassers?

Villalobos has already been a magnet for undesirables and even criminals.

What happens when Tehachapi turns into a circus or a commune of undesirables thanks to Villalobos, camping around Villalobos and refusing to leave and costing huge amounts of money, and infiltrating neighbors' property?

Torres can't handle security where she is now. She'd have an even harder time in the desert, especially as she is always claiming she has "no money." Animal Planet may pay the security bill temporarily, but the show will end and Tehachapi will suffer.

And what happens when there are fistfights, even gun fights, because visitors are refused admission or won't leave the area?

Tehachapi could be spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year just dealing with the VISITOR AND GROUPIE PROBLEM that Torres can't resolve even at her current location! Not to mention the crime that results from this influx of "visitors" and hangers on and groupees.

This is not a "maybe it might happen" problem. Torres and Villalobos admit is is a problem now, a problem they can't cope with, and have had to make threats to visitors to try to control!

Anonymous said...

OWNERSHIP, OWNERSHIP, OWNERSHIP!

Tia Torres is doing all the talking, but Tia doesn't own the land!!

She does not legally have the right to be granted any permits. The owners need to apply and sign.

(and by the way, you donors, have you considered that one of the issues is that Tia is potentially going to take YOUR donated money to bounce to her 19 year old daughter as "rent" therefore subverting money away from care of the pit bulls and putting it into the personal accounts of her family members? Why would Tia Torres refuse to be the listed owner? Why is she not taking responsibility?)

Does the daughter and the Roni Raczkowski woman have insurance for THEIR property? In their names? How much insurance? For what, the property itself, or liability as well? Who pays when someone gets bitten or mauled? Or a neighbor gets attacked, or loses livestock or has their property damaged? How much is the policy for?

The insurance company that holds the policy needs to be contacted. What are their requirements? Their rules? If their rules per the contract aren't followed, they can REFUSE TO BE HELD LIABLE AND REFUSE TO PAY FOR DAMAGES because their contract wasn't followed, or fraud was committed and information not given to the insurance company when the policy was applied for.

Victims of Villalobos could be further victimized because inadequate insurance, or insurance refusal, may leave the victims penniless.

I am having a hard time believing that any upstanding, honorable insurance company would give insurance to a 19 year old with a pit bull business. Is Raczkowski on the insurancepolicy? What if she removes herself from the deed and the policy?

The "parolee" program with the state is DEAD. No supervised parolees may go to Villalobos, as per the state!

Why is Tia Torres still claiming that she is running this program? Why are there NO LISTED EXPENDITURES for programs on her IRS filings?

How many of Tia's private pets will be coming to the new property? In a recent interview, she claims to have 19 cats. What about her personal dogs? How many will be coming to the property? Nineteen cats and who knows how many dogs in a 1200 sq. foot mobile is not healthy for the animals.

Also, will she be bringing any of her exotic pets with her? What will happen to the bears, wolves, etc? Will they be given to a sanctuary where they will be housed and cared for in a humane environment?

Will some reporter PLEASE inquire about the health and welfare of these animals? Will someone in the media force Tia to account for all the animals on her property, and explain who will take responsibility for them when she moves?

No where will you find Nancy's name on the brittany foundation website or VILLALOBOS RESCUE CENTER PETS IN THE HOOD INC., website.

Board of Directors, as listed on Guidestar......

What has this group even DONE?

Are these dogs going to Tehachapi too?

Is this connected to Villalobos, since Anderson lives there and is on the board?

Are there more dogs intended to be shipped to Tehachapi than even the 250 plus of Tia's? Will an owner's name be Nancy Anderson?

For what it is worth, I think that Kern County should contact the IRS and have a full audit done on Villalobos. Tia, IMO, has a major tax shelter under the umbrella of her 501c3. The tax department of the county just needs to google regulations for a 501c3 in CA and find out all of the guidelines for an audit. I am sure they don't need me to tell them how to do that. The audit of Villalobos has been necessary for long time. Tia was flying under the radar because she is currently located in an area that has similar "rescues". Some of them do the same thing such as boarding and rescue which is nothing more than a shell game.

IMO the state of CA has not caught onto them yet. Tia is not the only one doing this but she is, IMO, the worst offender. The others ("rescues") that offend all take notes from her. They even had the same grant writer.

It all comes down to money and Tia needs to be audited by the federal government and the state of CA!

Yes, those envelops of money come freely. I have seen them at other rescues in the area of Acton, CA. It is never enough.

Tia and similar "rescues" want grant writers. So, a grant writer applies for every grant they can get. That writer gets 20% even if they don't get the grant for that "rescue". That 20% is paid by donations.

Is Tia's rescue a valid 501c3?

A team of IRS auditors would be needed to figure out what is going on at her "rescue".

IMO it is a tax shelter and is a not for profit scam.

That is why I want them investigated. I live in CA and I have known for year the hills of Acton is abusing the not for profit system.

The internet is now exposing them.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit that Marjorie Kaplan of Animal Planet, and Discovery, making money off this fakery, doesn't send in a sleazy lawyer to try to ram this down the throats of citizens, and threaten them some more, or pull the wool over their eyes with the usual lawyer tricks and lies.

Animal Planet and Discovery doesn't care about the Aryan Brotherhood, the crime, the fact that she's begging for donations for boarded dogs that aren't even rescues, the whorehouse she tried to run exploiting Women too, the questions about where the money goes.

Someone said that maybe she is getting cash and I don't doubt that for a second but she still has to show the Federal Government how she pays her bills. She is on the record now saying she makes 70K a month on T-shirt sales. She is also on the record saying that she needs 800 dollars a day to run her hoarding disorder. Someone said prior that Tia said it takes 200 a day but that was wrong. Tia repeats over and over that it is 800 dollars a day. Tia claims that she is dumbfounded over the reaction to her wanting to move into Kern County. Really? I thought she was dumb but, Really? Does anyone for one second believe that Kaplin would live next door to Tia? No effin' way. She lives in her fancy pants gated community! No riff raff allowed!

Tia better hope that T-shirt sales pick up because she is looking at a huge tax bill and hopefully time behind bars. Ahhhh, her and AJ can wear matching striped outfits.

Questions For Animal Planet said...

Here are some important questions I have towards Animal Planet as well as the entire sense of morality and responsibility this company holds towards what it programs and how it regulates said programing...

1. Why does AP have programs that educate people on the dangerous of wild animals that have killed LESS annually than pit bull (tigers = 10 fatalities in a decade) while pit bulls who were supposed to be nanny dogs have killed more than 16 people each year? I know that population has something to do with this, but it still baffles me.

2. Why does AP allow people like Tia and Shorty to spread myths and lies such as the nanny dog and ATTS on shows that are supposed to portray reality (reality shows) about the portrayed topic? (pit bulls) If they want to show the reality of the situation you would think they would mention something about the high rate of maulings and fatalities. Or at least promote REAL responsibility ownership. Not just skirt around the issue like Bad Rap and Best Friends does.

3. Why is AP supporting a "sanctuary" that hoards and boards potential man killers (Otis). And why was Tia willing to take in three pit bulls that severely injured a young teenager?

4. I'm sure AP knows the sanctuary's connection to theft, attempted murder, and drug use. Why are they not informing the police about this? ESPECIALLY since Tia allows children to visit with parents for adoptions and supposedly has children programs running ON THE GROUNDS?

These are some troubling issues....

Tia claims she makes 50-70K a MONTH in T-shirt sales. Huh? That means 600-840K a year in T-shirt sales, not including any money she gets from donations or Animal Planet. That would mean she is pulling in over a million a year, while warehousing these poor animals in chainlink pens, exposed to the elements.

Is Tia having some sort of Charlie Sheen type melt-down? Because virtually nothing she is saying makes any sense. I think the IRS needs to take a look at her tax returns, because this new reval;ation doesn't add up.

Anonymous said...

Probably why the daughter who is assetless "on paper" was put on the deed...In case of an accident, the bulk on the money won't be in the liability equation.

Anonymous said...

"That would mean she is pulling in over a million a year, while warehousing these poor animals in chainlink pens, exposed to the elements"

And she's already admitted that some of these dogs are not rescues, they are BOARDED, which means she gets more money from boarding and what she calls "training."

In the other blog entry, when talking about the fire at the current place, she talks about a WOLF business being run at her place, and that she is boarding other people's exotic animals (while her IRS charity paperwork says she is spending donations on big cat and exotic animal food)

People think they are donating money for "rescued" pit bulls. Guess again!

There are so many businesses operating under this charity "front." Who knows how much money is coming in?

Then there's rent for some of these extra houses on the property, as it appears that this Nancy Anderson is a renter.

Tia Torres is getting payment from Animal Planet for the show. Maybe the husband and daughters are too.

There's money coming in from everywhere! Well, it isn't on the IRS documentation!

Ask this Ray woman (who isn't even an accountant) but is the treasurer for this "charity" and fills out the IRS paperwork- where the hell is all this money? Why isn't she accounting for it?

These donors and T shirt buyers need to DEMAND their money back!!

Did they ever wonder where all the fancy cars and criminal lawyers and all of it was getting paid from?

Do to Guidestar and look up the paperwork!!

What I do not understand is why Tia is taking in high risk dogs and expecting to place dogs with high risk aggression. I bet if she could have her way, she would even place Otis in a home if she could. Especially since there were the news reports on Sacabee and other places that had suggested or blatantly stated she was intending on "rescuing" the other officially known man biters that were with Otis as the time.

Here are some questions I have for her, although they might not be as important as the others that are far better.

Why is she spending ridiculous amounts of money to drive in far away places in her show to rescue pit bulls, when there are literally thousands on death row really close to her "sanctuary." Either she's doing this for publicity due to a dogs current condition or status, or she has enough money to do so (looking at those huge zeros on the IRS mentions) and when you take into consideration that she's making that much money off of shirts, Animal Planet contracts, and donations from ignorant fools. It seems more about keeping the show's ratings up then actually helping local dogs that are literally an inch away from death (when you count the fact that they're walking to the gas chamber)

She even states that she exploits known offenders and man biters just to make a buck! That's just sickening, and it is not how a charity should work. And I seriously doubt that a 100% of those proceeds go to the dogs, especially since she's continuously begging for money DESPITE making that much a year...

Let's just say she gets $60,000 a month on t-shirt sales. She would be making around 720,000 a year. Shots, fixing, and food per dog would be around:

shots = 25,000
food = 120,000
alteration = 20,000
heartworm = 24,000

The main costs of taking care of these dogs each year would be around $205,000 each year. This means her total costs for the main care would only drain about 28% of her money. Things like toys and shampoo would drain about $18,500 leaving her at $495, 500.

This still leaves her with half a million dollars each year EXCLUDING the contracts she has with Animal Planet and the donations from fans. Which could easily pay for parolee paychecks and maintenance I'm sure.

When you do the basic or just average math on this, it doesn't really makes sense... That means there's half a millions dollars unaccounted for and what makes it worse is that there's nothing in the IRS records to account for it apparently!

If she's having "financial issues" the best thing to do would send her exotics to real professionals so they can be in enriching environments with 1 on 1 attention and care. And put dogs that have spent more than a year in a kennel out of their misery.

The whole deal with this Ken Mixon is very strange. It appears that he has been promoting Tia from early on

Someone asked a question about the Tia Circus and this was his response in Feb

"Ken Mixon Information about Villalobos rescue is available on their facebook page just to get a "balanced" opinion you can ask them questions directly from there."

BALANCED, Ken? What do you think they will tell you. Tia and gang lie in nearly every interview she gives to the media.

Did Ken even bother to do just a bit of research?

Things that make you wonder. Yeah, go to the felon circus to ask them if they are nice? Maybe a felon will help you out and tell you what they want you to hear!

When it comes to money paying the parolees, let's say there's 10 of them, and they get paid $10.00 an hour (I don't know what their salary is) Each parolee would earn:

Week = $560
Month = $2,240
Year = $26,880

I'm sure basic wage pay is higher in California so lets round that to $30,000. She would be spending $300,000 leaving her with $195, 500. That's still a good portion left over, and if this were her paycheck, she would be taking in 27% of the entire income on T-shirts alone!

I don't know how much it takes to produce a t-shirt but seeing how the materials and colors are limited I am sure it is not much. And we've still yet to account the salary from Animal Planet which she claims does not pay much, and discounting the donations from fans!

A show like wife swap was offering $20,000 for a weeks payment. (2007) The lowest can be around $700 per episode or $5,000. And shows like Little Big People, Big Brother, and John & Kate supposedly got this kind of salary. (2009) And this seems to be an average across the board when looking at the pay rates per episode for The Osbournes ect.

Let's say Tia's show is 20 episodes per season and they pay by that system. She could make $14,000 on the low end or $100,000. On average it could be $57,000.

She claims it costs $20,000 to run the place each month. But this would still leave her with at least $200,000 if not $400,000 when considering those t-shirt sales!

What is that money going towards???? I would really like to know.....

I think it would be reasonable to say that Tia is banking very close to a million dollars a year now. Especially since pit nutters are advertised someone they can waste their hard earned (or stolen) money on.

The fact that she is complaining about finances despite this obvious fact really shows that she's a greedy grifter.

If you go to the FB page there are wonderful comments of people praying for justice on Tia's behalf. These nutters are the most gullible lot of people I've ever seen. If I want to strike it rich and control a large crowd of people, I would consider going into the pit bull rescue BUSINESS.

I especially love this comment by poster Donna Bagwell:

"Kern County Residents, Animal Lovers and Friends: Please come show your support ...for Tia Torres and Villalobos Rescue Center, as she attempts to get her Conditional Use Permit to move her rescue center to Tehachapi! The Kern County Planning Commission hearing is Thurs., March 10,2011, 7 p.m. at 1115 Truxtun Ave. Bakersfield 93301 on the 5th floor in the Supervisor's Chambers!!"

One could assume this means accumulate death threats, pit bull myths, and dressing your pit bull in a tutu or bee suit and victimize them in an attempt to either frighten or guilt the Teachapi community in submission.

There's a wonderful image posted by a man that goes by the name of Cory Mccarter in which he's holding what seems to be an automatic rifle with a shirt saying "if it ain't pit it ain't shit" from Tia's store.

Nice to see that Tia's fans don't generally look like rednecks, crackheads, and overall previous criminals!

Apparently Tia wants to help the homeless pit bull owners out there.

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?id=172286261142&aid=268316

Guy's been a drifter for a while due to "personal problems with a family member" and has two pit bulls with him.

I do not mind homeless people as I work at a homeless shelter at times, but I am wondering why he has two more mouths to feed (when he's homeless) and not only that, but why two pit bulls? A huge liability on his part.

Maybe the family altercation was due to him keeping his dogs.

How old is Tia? In the last episode, when she took a caravan of trolls up to Tehachapi, she was talking about her retirement. Tia looks in her mid to late 60s to me.

So, when she retires she will have the added benefit of living on property that was totally paid for by tax free donations. These pit bull followers are so stupid.

You know that her troll daughters are not going to take over. The only reason they are in the picture now is because of the TV show.

there is no liability. he is completely judgement proof.

Speaking of wrong, check out this comment made by a Tia Goon.

Jeff Lemos
"‎51,089 plus people cannot be wrong in believing Tia and her crew is doing a great job. Let's all rally behind her today and help fight this fight. Just remember Tia, you're not fighting this alone!!!"

Money money money....

Debbie Parker
"In all of the stress and confusion today, let's not forget to cast our votes at the animal rescue site! We only have a few more days to vote and get Tia that cash prize!"

If people did a little bit of research, they would see that she does not need anymore money!

According to Tia's facebook (which the previous quotes were from) here's the radio station that will keep people updated on the meeting.

Tia's Words:
"Here's the link to see it live, and I'll be on the road soon unable to post it easily, can you all please repost it periodically to keep it up to the top. Thank you! b

...

If you want to watch the broadcast of the Kern County Planning Commission meeting, go here and click on "Connect to KGOV-Live" at 7:00 pm PST (10:00 pm EST). Let's all send Tia our love & prayers tonight!"

http://www.co.kern.ca.us/gsd/kgov/kgov-live.asp

And apparently this is the address to the place:

‎Amy Leroy:
"‎1115 Truxton Ave. Bakersfield Ca 1st floor and if you go online to the Kern County Board of Chambers you can get the address and phone number."

I think you might find this one funny Craven.

http://www.facebook.com/VillalobosRescueCenter/posts/133089033427783

If they're going by that logic, why doesn't Tia mention how she's lying to the mass public and how she now thinks pit bulls were farm dogs despite her site claiming them to be originally bred for fighting?

After all, people deserve to know both sides right?

Conditional Use Permit Denied with 5-0 Vote....

Tia should sell a "Pit-Grifterin' Ain't Easy!" T-shirt.

Add in the income from the boarding and "training" she says she does!

Those 70 dogs that disappeared may have been boarded (owned by others who give Tia money) dogs, which means that Tia is rescuing very, very few dogs if so.

Donors are being told she has all these rescued dogs when a big percentage are actually owned, boarded dogs in her business. Business, not charity.

Per Ms Torres, rescue friend from over her hill, she has gotten property in Louisina and will be moving near the end of the year. This was done when they were in the area after the tornados
